The Minnesota Scouting Report

FHIT produces the Minnesota Scouting Report for Bantam and High School Players throughout the entire state.  If you feel that you're a qualified candidate to be on the MSR, please fill out the free player profile to make sure we have all the correct and current information.

 MORE ABOUT THE MSR:

The MSR was created in 2003 to assist our players understanding of where they FHIT.  The MSR started with the 1990 age level.  Due to the success and detailed information we have collected, we now have reports on players from Minnesota at the 90, 91 & 92 age levels. We are currently working on the 1993 age level scouting report, which will be introduced in November of 2007.

WHO ARE THE SCOUTS?

Jason Berg is the Head Scout for FHIT and USHL Central Scouting.  Our staff also includes 10 other USHL Central Scouts from across Minnesota and Western Wisconsin.  We also rely on eyes and reports of officials, coaches and other non-FHIT scouts in the hockey world.

WHO DO WE SCOUT FOR?

We scout for Minnesota Hockey Players.  Yes, we do scout for USHL Central Scouting but our goal is to assist any player with potential to receive the recognition they deserve.  We start collecting information and scouting teams and players at the Bantam age level.  Our goal is to report on players over a 4 year period in order to give a fair assessment of a player's potential and overall ability.  This also allows us the ability to update the reports yearly as players develop.

We pass on the MSR to all Elite, Junior, College and Professional teams that request our reports.  We offer our reports at no cost to teams; our goal with the scouting report is to assist any player deserving of the exposure.

Over the past couple of seasons we have relied on the major Bantam and High School Tournaments to compile and update our reports.  Our staff includes 10 scouts across Minnesota and Western Wisconsin but we still are unable to see every deserving player in the state.  Minnesota is also the most difficult state to scout as it is a large area and games often consist of players from 3 different birth years.

To better serve Minnesota Players and track their development we offer players the ability to fill out our free player profile.  The profile will allow us to keep tabs on players progress, as well as the ability to pass the vital information on to coaches, teams and scouts.  To submit a free player profile please click the apply now button and fill out the player form.
